Dealing with Parential Separation & Bereavement

The Newcastle West Family and Community Hub will host a workshop for parents of children grieving as a result of death or separation on Monday February 20th from 7.30-9pm.  Lead by Psychotherapist/Play Therapist Tina O'Brien, this information evening will tackle to subject of loss and will concentrate on practical activities to do with your child supporting them to cope with parental separation or bereavement and is a follow on from previous information events and the highly successful Rainbows programme for children.

The talk will be followed by a question and answer session.  A further daytime workshop on this topics is also planned, details of which will be announced shortly.   All sessions are free of charge and open to West Limerick residents however places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.  Registration is not necessary.  For more information contact Theresa Shanahan, Family and Community Development worker on 069 79113 or email tshanahan@wlr.ie.  All are welcome.

The Family and Community Hub is based upstairs in the Newcastle West Community Centre, located near the entrance to the Demesne.  It hosts a range of activities and events throughout the year.  Work is now underway to establish a lone parents support group.  Those interested in learning more can contact Theresa for more information.
