West Limerick Resources in conjunction with County Limerick Local Sports Partnership will be running a series of family fun sessions in Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West and Askeaton in the coming weeks. Open to parents and their children under 10 years, the activity filled afternoons will combine a range of actiies for all the family.
The Abbeyfeale Family Fun Days will combine face painting, indoor and outdoor games & quizzes for all the family. The July 12th session will also feature a Health and Wellness Workshop presented by Limerick Sports Partnership (which includes visual displays of foods followed by physical activities and fun games). At the July 19th session Conor Nestor will provide a free soccer coaching and skills workshop for the community. To participate in the family fun days children must be accompanied by parent/guardian. The Newcastle West and Askeaton Family Fun Days will combine art, music, dance and drama. Children under four will begin with a half hour music and dance session before a short break which will be followed by an art and play session. Children aged 5-10 years will begin with an art session which will be followed up with a drama and dance session. Each evening will then finish off with a group session which will include singing or a group game. Advance registration is essential as there are limited numbers. Contact Theresa on 069 79113.
The family fun afternoons are free of charge and open to lone parents and those on social welfare payments only. Parents must remain throughout each session and there is a maximum of three children per adult (over 18 years old). Supported by the HSE through the West Limerick Family Support Project.
