Training

West Limerick Resources aims to develop the community through skills, knowledge and learning.  Under our various funding programmes we support a wide variety of training and development initiatives. We believe that access to knowledge and skills leads to access to opportunities for social and economic advancement.   

Rural Development Programme - Working in conjunction with other agencies and independently West Limerick Resources can support training for eligible individuals, groups, communities and enterprises under a number of areas including food, tourism, energy and the environment, facilitation, community development and business start up. Local and Community Development Programme - under this programme West Limerick Resources, working in partnership with the relevant agencies supports various training initiatives in the community specifically targeting the long term unemployed, marginalised groups, early school leavers and disadvantaged women.  For more information see GOAL 2 of this programme

Rural Employment Service - Through the RES West Limerick Resources, working in conjunction with other agencies, funds individual and group training opportunities aimed at developing the skills base and confidence of low skilled workers, the long term unemployed and those most distant from the work force.  For more information Click here

Towards Occupation - The Towards Occupation Programme offers a flexible short-term training and support programme to long term unemployed individuals.  Designed to allow participants explore a range of new skills, the programme places a strong emphasis on confidence building, communication skills, increasing self belief and promoting social interaction.  For more information Click here

FAS Jobs Club - The FAS Jobs Club offers training and guidance in all areas relating to looking for a job, particularly the preparation of CV's, cover letter writing and interview techniques.   Working in cooperation with West Limerick Resources Migrant Support Service the Jobs Club also provides access to English language classes for migrant workers (in cooperation with the VEC).  For more information Click here

Volunteer Support Service -The Volunteer Support Service offers training and advice to community and voluntary groups on a wide range of topics relating to the recruitment and retention of volunteers.  For more information Click here
